[Civo](https://www.civo.com/?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) and Arupa Cloud Nusantara launched a Jakarta cloud region on 23 October, moving their May partnership from a planned platform to services that Civo says customers can access now. The region offers managed Kubernetes, virtual machines, managed PostgreSQL, load balancers and block storage, giving Indonesian firms another local infrastructure option for application workloads.

## A local region moves from plan to service

The companies' earlier [partnership announcement](https://www.civo.com/newsroom/arupa-cloud-nusantara-civo-launch-sovereign-cloud-platform-indonesia?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) set out an intention to introduce Civo's platform in Indonesia. The [23 October launch](https://www.civo.com/newsroom/arupa-cloud-nusantara-and-civo-launch-sovereign-cloud-in-jakarta?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) says the Indonesia Region is now operating in Jakarta under Arupa Cloud Nusantara, which provides local technical support, incident escalation and migration assistance.

Civo says customers can use the region for managed Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, managed PostgreSQL databases, load balancers and block storage. It also lists Terraform, a command-line interface, an API and a web dashboard among its management tools. These are current application and infrastructure services, rather than the GPU offering on the companies' later roadmap.

## Data location and billing

According to Civo, Arupa operates and maintains the Jakarta region, with customer data, control-plane data, backups and operational logs kept in Indonesia. The company presents that arrangement as an option for organisations considering local data location and operational control. Those are vendor descriptions of the operating model, not an independent finding that a particular customer's legal or regulatory obligations are met.

For the wider buyer checklist on data location, administrator access, backups and failover, see SEA Connect’s [analysis of Southeast Asian cloud control and continuity](https://www.southeastasiaconnect.com/southeast-asia-cloud-strategy-sovereignty-resilience/).

Civo says Indonesian customers are billed in rupiah through Arupa, with usage calculated hourly and invoiced monthly. It also says transfers into and out of the Jakarta Region carry no data-transfer fee. The release does not specify what a given workload would cost.

The launch does not include every service on Civo and Arupa's roadmap. GPU Compute and GPU Kubernetes for Jakarta are scheduled from December 2026, with reservations open through Arupa. They are future capacity, while the managed cloud services listed above are the products Civo says customers can access now.
