The [Central Java provincial government](https://jatengprov.go.id/?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) says realised investment reached Rp72.54 trillion through the third quarter of 2026\. Disclosed at a Semarang business forum on 21 October, the cumulative result puts Kendal first among the province's districts and cities at Rp13.61 trillion, ahead of Semarang city and Batang. For industrial site selectors and suppliers, the location split is a way to compare where the government says investment activity has already been recorded.

The province reported Rp40.77 trillion in foreign investment and Rp31.77 trillion in domestic investment over the period. Semarang city accounted for Rp9.07 trillion and Batang for Rp8.54 trillion, followed by Temanggung at Rp5.05 trillion and Demak at Rp4.29 trillion. These are reported investment totals by location, not measures of available factory land, current operating capacity or returns for a particular investor.

## District figures show where reported capital landed

Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti said the city lacks land for large industrial estates and is focusing on trade and services, while surrounding districts have industrial and natural-resource potential. Her description gives the district ranking a practical planning context, but it is a statement about the city's role, not a verified inventory of available sites.

The government also reported 82,420 projects and 340,334 workers absorbed through the third quarter. The figures describe a cumulative provincial result, not 82,420 newly announced projects or 340,334 jobs created on 21 October. The provincial disclosure does not provide a project-by-project employment breakdown, and Southeast Asia Connect has not independently audited the totals.

Governor Ahmad Luthfi described Semarang as a connector to surrounding areas including Kendal, Demak, Grobogan and Salatiga, and called for cooperation among districts. Those remarks describe the province's development approach at the forum; they do not add new investment commitments to the through-Q3 totals.

The province published foreign and domestic investment totals for Central Java as a whole and a separate ranking of districts. It did not break the two capital-source totals down by district in this disclosure. Readers therefore cannot tell from these figures whether Kendal, Semarang city or Batang drew more foreign or domestic capital.
