[Nestlé says](https://www.nestle.com/media/news/nescafe-expands-production-thailand?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) it will invest CHF 563 million in a new Nescafé production facility in Thailand, giving Southeast Asia a source-confirmed manufacturing signal that combines automation, AI-enabled systems and regional coffee capacity expansion.

## What the factory adds

The company says the factory will be located in Samut Prakan province and will produce soluble coffee, coffee mixes and ready-to-drink beverages. Nestlé says the site is expected to begin operations in the latter part of 2028 and will employ more than 500 people.

## Why the AI layer matters

The operational detail that matters most is not branding. Nestlé says the new facility will use advanced technology, automation and AI-enabled systems, including next-generation coffee extraction and aroma recovery technology, plus robotics and automated systems for packing, transport and inventory management.

That makes the story useful for regional operators because it sits at the intersection of production capacity, export readiness, automation and supply-chain resilience. Nestlé also says the facility is intended to support both domestic demand in Thailand and export opportunities.
