**APN Connect spans about 35 kilometres between Jakarta sites; the announcement reports no measured service performance.**

On 3 November, [NTT DATA](https://www.nttdata.com/?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) opened the 12MW Jakarta 2 Annex (JKT2A) for cloud, AI and high-density computing beside its JKT2 campus.

For Indonesian enterprises and cloud infrastructure buyers, the combination matters beyond the additional megawatts. The new building connects directly to the existing JKT2 campus, which NTT DATA says hosts more than 240 network providers, the JKT-IX internet exchange, cloud providers and submarine-cable connections. Customers can therefore consider added computing capacity without necessarily rebuilding their connectivity arrangements.

## How APN Connect is designed to link the sites

APN Connect uses All-Photonics Network technology from NTT's Innovative Optical and Wireless Network programme. NTT DATA says it provides high-capacity, low-latency Layer 1 connectivity between the JKT2/JKT2A campus and JKT3\. The intended uses include real-time data synchronisation, disaster recovery and multi-site operations.

Those capabilities are relevant to banks, digital platforms and other businesses assessing where to place workloads and how to maintain continuity across facilities. The announcement does not name customer deployments for the new service.

JKT2A has a Tier III-certified design, dual power substations and redundant power and cooling systems, according to the company. NTT DATA did not disclose the project's capital expenditure, contracted occupancy or a commissioning timetable for individual customers.

The commercial test is whether buyers use the linked sites for more demanding AI workloads and resilient operations, rather than treating the opening as another standalone capacity addition.
