# ShardLab and Indonesia’s EKRAF extend blockchain-talent programme

ShardLab and Indonesia’s Ministry of Creative Economy, known as EKRAF, are extending a partnership focused on blockchain talent as the ninth Protocol Camp cohort concludes in Bali.

Six Indonesian participants joined the 12-week builder programme after an international selection process. The final demo is scheduled for 21 August at Melasti Beach. The collaboration follows a memorandum of understanding signed at Southeast Asia Blockchain Week 2026 in Bangkok. The organisers position the programme as a route from training into working products.

For Indonesia’s innovation economy, the material signal is the link between public creative-economy policy and a regional technical-builder programme, rather than blockchain promotion alone.

The announcement does not show that the cohort has produced durable companies, investment returns or broad labour-market impact. Those results require evidence after the demo and beyond the programme.

The next evidence to watch is whether the Indonesian teams secure users, partners, capital or repeatable product activity after the cohort closes.

ShardLab says participants move from concepts to working products and receive sponsorship and weekly mentoring. Those programme features provide a clearer test than attendance numbers, although working prototypes are still earlier than sustained market adoption.

The creative-economy connection is especially relevant where developers explore tools for intellectual-property management, creator commerce or digital assets. Policy interest does not resolve questions about regulation, consumer risk or the commercial fit of any specific blockchain application.

The cohort is regional rather than exclusively Indonesian, and the six Indonesian placements are the bounded local result disclosed in the announcement. Claims about national capacity or ecosystem impact would need broader and longer-term evidence.
