[Visa](https://www.visa.com/?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) has established six capability hubs at its new Paya Lebar Green Solution Center in Singapore. For Southeast Asian payments firms, this places work on agentic commerce and new payment methods in a centre where Visa says it will collaborate with DBS, Nium and StraitsX. Visa intends to develop technologies there for use across its global network.

The [5 November announcement](https://en.prnasia.com/releases/apac/visa-establishes-global-capability-hubs-in-singapore-to-build-the-future-of-global-commerce-554775.shtml?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) groups the hubs in three areas. Applied AI and agentic commerce teams will work on payment and fintech uses, including how AI agents can interact securely with merchants, consumers and networks. Digital money research covers stablecoins and programmable payments, while a separate team focuses on wallets and alternative payment methods.

## Security and partner work

The other two hubs focus on cybersecurity and potential financial applications of quantum computing. Visa frames those areas as research and development priorities; the announcement does not report a deployed product or outcome from the new hubs.

The centre brings together more than 1,500 professionals across technology, product, cybersecurity, engineering and innovation. That is a centre-wide workforce figure, not a count of new jobs. Visa says it plans to develop further specialised roles, but it did not give a hiring number or timetable.

Visa also says it is participating in the Monetary Authority of Singapore's BLOOM initiative, which explores cross-border and multi-currency money movement. Its Singapore hub plan follows nearly five decades of activity in the city, according to the company.
