[Yude Solar Technologies](https://www.prnewswire.com/apac/news-releases/yude-solar-and-sedayusolar-form-strategic-joint-venture-to-develop-solar-projects-in-indonesia-302903715.html?ref=southeastasiaconnect.com) and Indonesia's SEDAYUSolar have formed a joint venture to develop, invest in, build and operate solar projects in Indonesia. For industrial energy buyers and project sponsors, the proposed change is a combined counterparty spanning project development, finance, construction and long-term operation, rather than a construction contractor alone. The partners announced the venture on 6 October in a release distributed on 12 October.

The venture targets commercial and industrial rooftop systems, ground-mounted installations and utility-scale projects. Yude Solar, a GoodWe Group subsidiary, brings international development, investment and technology capabilities; PT Selaras Daya Utama, trading as SEDAYUSolar, brings Indonesian engineering, procurement and construction experience. Their stated aim is to connect those functions into a platform that can carry projects from planning and capital arrangement through construction and operation.

## A broader offer for Indonesian solar buyers

An industrial company considering on-site generation typically has to resolve who develops the project, who funds it, who builds it and who operates it after commissioning. The partners' proposed integrated offer could put those discussions with one venture. That is the commercial significance of the combination, although the announcement does not give terms for a customer contract or show that any specific buyer has signed one.

Yude Solar says it has developed and commissioned more than 3 GW of residential and commercial and industrial solar projects. SEDAYUSolar says it has delivered more than 250 projects in Indonesia since its establishment in 2009\. Those are the companies' earlier track records; neither figure is a pipeline or capacity commitment for the new venture. The release also says the partners may explore battery storage where appropriate, without announcing a storage installation.

The companies have therefore established a new route to compete for Indonesian rooftop and larger solar work, but have not identified a first joint project, investment amount, generation capacity, ownership split or power-purchase agreement. Those details will determine how quickly the proposed development-to-operation model becomes an executable option for buyers and investors.
