Singapore's Energy Market Authority (EMA) has confirmed a reduction in natural-gas supply from Indonesia, Minister Tan See Leng said in remarks published on 25 October. He put the reduction at 17 billion British thermal units per day over 18 days.

Scale and supply response

Tan said the reduction is less than 2% of Singapore's daily power-sector gas demand. Singapore has sufficient replacement gas from other sources, including liquefied natural gas, he said. The remarks do not break out deliveries or effects for individual buyers.

Contract review

Tan said Singapore gas importer Gas Supply Pte Ltd would engage its Indonesian suppliers to determine whether any contract had been breached and, if so, pursue the remedies provided in those contracts. No breach finding was announced. The remarks do not establish a buyer-specific shortfall, price effect or power outage.
