Salesforce and Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) have opened registration for a two-year Slack AI Launchpad programme aimed at up to 1,000 local small and medium-sized enterprises. Announced on 13 October, it offers a 60-day software trial and guided workshops to help participating businesses identify and build an AI-enabled workflow. The practical change for a Singapore SME is a defined application route and support package, rather than a general call to explore AI.

Under the announced offer, an eligible business can receive a complimentary 60-day Slack Business+ trial for up to 10 users and attend two hands-on workshops. Salesforce says the sessions will move from choosing a suitable process to building at least one workflow for the business. Bryd, May4S and Valuehub are named as workshop partners. Templates, guides, a prompt library and a participant community are also part of the support described in the release.

From a trial to a business process

The programme focuses on a common implementation question for small firms: which recurring task is clear enough to automate, and how should its information and approvals be organised first? The workshops are designed to help participants make that choice before using Slack's AI functions. That distinction matters because access to software alone does not identify a useful process or put a working system into day-to-day use.

Salesforce says the trial includes Slackbot and reusable Slackbot Skills, which can help users find information and set up repeatable tasks inside Slack. Those are described product capabilities; the announcement does not establish how many Singapore businesses have completed a workflow through this new programme. The 1,000-SME figure is programme capacity over two years, not current enrolment.

Businesses can sign up through IMDA's SMEs Go Digital platform from 13 October. An SME considering the offer can compare the 10-user and 60-day limits with the team and process it wants to test, then review the programme's detailed participation terms. Salesforce and IMDA describe the initiative as supporting the broader National AI Impact Programme, which aims to advance AI adoption among 10,000 enterprises over three years.

For an operator, the news is the availability of a structured trial and training route with named partners and an open sign-up. Whether the workshops lead to lasting changes in participants' operations will depend on subsequent implementation; the announcement reports the programme design and opening, not results from the new cohort.
