Philippine lender Salmon adds US$90m commitments and US$50m bond proceeds
The financing will support existing credit products and planned nationwide expansion of motorcycle and small-business lending.

Salmon, a Philippine banking and lending group, announced on 19 October US$90 million in financing commitments and US$50 million in bond proceeds to expand its credit business.
The commitments come from Spice Expeditions, WashU and Moore. Alongside them, the bond proceeds provide debt financing. The US$140 million total therefore combines investor commitments with money raised through bonds; the release leaves the dates when those commitments became binding and the bond financing closed unspecified.
Salmon said the financing would support its Credit Line and in-store lending products, as well as nationwide rollout of motorcycle loans and lending for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The planned business-lending expansion would add a financing channel for smaller Philippine operators.
The group already advertises a Moto Loan on its website. Its latest announcement places motorcycle lending within a wider nationwide expansion plan alongside small-business credit.
Salmon operates through Salmon Bank (Rural Bank) and Salmon Finance. The announcement identifies the bank as licensed by the Philippine central bank and the financing company as separately licensed. The group delivers its banking and lending services through its app.
