Thunes says members of its network can now send instant payouts of up to US$10,000 per recipient UnionPay cardholder per day into mainland China. The Singapore-headquartered payments company announced the expanded arrangement with UnionPay International on 2 November, naming Indonesia and Thailand among its expansion corridors.

The issuer says the connection gives financial institutions, payment providers and money-transfer operators access to UnionPay cards across 79 major Chinese banks through one API. For Southeast Asian remittance businesses, the practical change is a higher stated daily ceiling and one additional route for China-bound card payouts. The release does not provide corridor-specific transaction volumes, fees, customer adoption or independently measured service performance.

Thunes describes the transfer as real-time and says the increased limit can reduce the need to split larger personal transfers across days. Those are company claims about its network offering, not a guarantee that every sender or recipient can use the full amount in every corridor. Operators would still need to check their own eligibility, compliance and commercial terms.
