The first Bakery ASEAN trade exhibition is scheduled for 27 to 29 August 2026 at Jakarta International Expo. Organisers say the event will bring bakery equipment, ingredients, packaging and production suppliers together with buyers from Indonesia and other Southeast Asian markets.

What happened

The event is backed by the organisers of Bakery China and is expected to host more than 150 exhibitors. Those are organiser projections; attendance, buyer activity and completed deals will only be known after the exhibition. Bakery ASEAN official event page

Why it matters

Its commercial relevance is market access. Food manufacturing suppliers often need local distribution, technical demonstrations and buyer relationships before equipment or ingredients can move into regular production. A specialist exhibition can shorten that discovery process without guaranteeing sales.

Indonesia offers a large consumer market and a growing base of bakeries, retailers, hotels and food-service operators. Suppliers should still assess import rules, service coverage, local pricing and the ability to support machinery after installation.

What readers should follow

The evidence to watch is the mix of local and regional buyers, distributor agreements, equipment orders and follow-up activity after August. Until then, Bakery ASEAN is a new route to the market rather than proof of market traction.
