CrowdStrike and Telkom Indonesia plan to develop cybersecurity offerings for Indonesian organisations under a memorandum of understanding announced on 28 August. The proposed collaboration combines CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform and security services with Telkom’s infrastructure, local market experience and public- and private-sector customer relationships.
The agreement has two strands. One concerns the security services the companies intend to develop for customers. The other concerns Telkom’s own operations: the telecommunications group plans to standardise its internal cyber defences on Falcon.
Security for enterprise AI
The partners intend to establish a joint team to develop offerings for AI agents, models and systems. They will also explore joint sales initiatives and opportunities to combine their respective security capabilities.
A stated area of interest is managed security for enterprise AI adoption. This includes promoting CrowdStrike’s Falcon AI Detection and Response technology, which the company describes as providing visibility and runtime enforcement where AI operates, including at endpoints and across enterprise environments.
The distinction matters: the announcement concerns both using AI-powered security tools and protecting the AI systems organisations deploy. It sets out areas for development rather than a completed joint service rollout. The release did not disclose a customer availability date for the proposed offerings.
Telkom’s role in delivery
Telkom already offers enterprise connectivity, cloud and managed-service capabilities. Its network-security portfolio covers planning and construction through to operation, monitoring and maintenance. That existing service base is distinct from the joint offerings now being explored with CrowdStrike.
Seno Soemadji, Telkom’s director of strategic business development and portfolio, said closer work with CrowdStrike would strengthen the expertise of its security teams and analysts and their ability to help customers detect and respond to attacks. The companies also described longer-term resilience against threats associated with emerging technologies as an area to explore.
The proposed joint team links product development to the commercial side of the partnership. CrowdStrike brings its platform and specialist security services, while Telkom brings infrastructure and relationships with Indonesian enterprises and government institutions. Turning those capabilities into customer offerings is the work outlined by the agreement.
