Singapore-based Hivebotics has raised a US$6 million Series A led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with Fareast Land Development and Rigel participating.
The company says the capital will take Abluo, its commercial-restroom cleaning robot, from pilots into volume production and expand its distributor network in four core markets. Vertex Ventures SEA & India
Vertex says the robot combines an articulated arm with cleaning steps that cover toilets, urinals, sinks and floors. The company also says the round will fund HiveIntelligence, its system for planning, monitoring and validating cleaning jobs.
Hivebotics says its robot has logged nearly 10,000 operating hours across more than 20 sites over 12 months. Those figures are company-reported; they are a useful deployment signal, not independent proof of product performance or commercial scale.
The operating problem is specific. Restroom cleaning combines hygiene requirements, wet and constrained spaces, repetitive work and labour availability. A robot that can complete a full cleaning workflow would address a different task from the floor-only machines commonly used in facilities.
The regional relevance is practical: airports, hospitals, malls and commercial buildings across Southeast Asia are under pressure to maintain service levels while managing labour constraints and operating costs. That creates a real buyer problem, but not an automatic market for every robotics product.
The next test is execution after the fundraise. Buyers will want evidence of uptime, safety, servicing capacity, cleaning-quality consistency, total cost of ownership and whether the robot fits existing facilities-management contracts and workflows.
The financing therefore signals capacity to pursue those tests. It does not itself prove repeat revenue, customer retention or productivity gains. Those are the milestones that would show whether a pilot-stage physical-AI product is becoming an operating tool at scale.
