Bank Indonesia is pushing a three-part digital route for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises: digital farming to improve productivity, e-commerce onboarding to widen market access, and digital financial records to strengthen access to financing.

Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta set out the approach at Karya Kreatif Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta on 21 August. Bank Indonesia said the programme connects digital capability with practical business outcomes rather than treating adoption as an end in itself. ANTARA News Agency

The central bank is also developing the Indonesia Digital Innovation Centre, known as PIDI, to connect talent, innovators, industry, government and strategic partners around solutions that can be applied in the real economy, including by smaller businesses. Karya Kreatif Indonesia

Financial records are one of the most concrete parts of the programme. Bank Indonesia said its SIAPIK application is designed to help smaller firms record transactions and produce standardised financial statements, improving the information available when they seek financing.

The wider KKI programme brings together 27 ministries and agencies, 34 strategic partners, more than 550 in-person exhibitors and about 1,300 online participants. Its agenda combines digital innovation, market access, finance and intellectual-property support.

The execution test is adoption beyond the event. Useful follow-up evidence would include the number of firms using the tools, changes in sales or productivity, completed financing applications and whether PIDI-supported solutions move into sustained commercial use.
