State-owned energy enterprise PT Pertamina (Persero) announced that it is reducing prices for its non-subsidized Pertamax fuel series effective August 1, 2026. ANTARA reported the move as the first rate drop since Pertamax prices climbed in June amid geopolitical conflict and higher international energy markets. The company said the revised prices were confirmed in an official announcement on Friday, July 31.
In the Greater Jakarta area, Pertamax is set to fall from Rp16,250 to Rp15,950 per liter. Pertamax Green will drop from Rp17,000 to Rp16,600 per liter, while Pertamax Turbo will decline from Rp19,300 to Rp18,300 per liter. The article describes this as the first price decrease for the Pertamax series since prices surged on June 10, 2026, after several months of rising international energy markets triggered by military conflicts involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The reduction applies to the non-subsidized gasoline lineup, but Pertamina’s non-subsidized diesel products in Greater Jakarta are not changing. Dexlite, identified in the report as CN 51, will remain at Rp19,700 per liter, and Pertamina Dex, identified as CN 53, will remain at Rp21,150 per liter. Government-assigned and subsidized fuel prices are also staying flat nationwide, with Pertalite held at Rp10,000 per liter and Biosolar at Rp6,800 per liter.
Pertamina Patra Niaga said the lower non-subsidized prices reflect government directives and global market conditions. Kitty Andhora, the company’s VP of Corporate Communications, said the adjustment follows government regulations and directives while taking into account global oil price developments, the rupiah exchange rate, and the need to maintain public purchasing power. According to Andhora, the change is also part of Pertamina’s commitment to protect domestic purchasing power while keeping national energy supply stable.
