Singapore’s Attorney-General’s Chambers says it is hosting the 2026 Conference of the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel from 15 to 17 July, the first time the conference has been held in Singapore.

According to AGC, more than 200 delegates from over 40 jurisdictions are attending. The published agenda includes the use of AI tools by drafting offices, management of legislative pipelines, legislation supporting digital decision-making, democratic accountability, legislative agility and professional ethics.

AGC says the conference theme is Legislating in a Changing World. The release records discussion topics and keynote remarks; it does not announce new Singapore legislation or a new AI policy.

What to watch

The source-safe signal is the agenda itself: AI and digital decision-making are being discussed alongside accountability and drafting practice in a cross-jurisdictional legal setting.
