Tech Data is expanding its IBM distribution footprint to six additional Asia-Pacific markets: Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines. The expansion adds to existing specialised IBM practices in Australia, India, Singapore and Vietnam, taking the regional footprint to ten markets.
The move is part of parent company TD SYNNEX’s expansion of IBM distribution into 20 new countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America. In Malaysia, the business operates under the Tec D name. TD SYNNEX official newsroom Business Wire release
Tech Data says partners in the new markets will gain access to its Select Blue programme, which is designed around IBM specialisation in areas including AI, data and automation. The distributor also points to financing, pre-sales support, enablement and go-to-market execution.
For Southeast Asia, the practical signal is a wider local route to IBM products and channel support across Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines, alongside established coverage in Singapore and Vietnam.
The announcement describes planned access and partner support; it does not establish adoption, customer outcomes or revenue growth in the newly covered markets. Those claims require later deployment and operating evidence.
The next evidence to watch is the number of enabled partners, named customer deployments and repeatable AI, data or automation projects in each market.
