Tech Data has signed a distribution agreement with Wasabi Technologies covering Singapore and Malaysia. The companies said the arrangement gives resellers and managed-service providers local access to cloud storage products for backup, archive, disaster recovery and ransomware protection.

What changed

The portfolio includes Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage for frequently accessed data, Cloud NAS for file-based workflows and Surveillance Cloud. Tech Data also pointed to integrations with backup and recovery products from Veeam, Commvault and Rubrik.

Why it matters

For Singapore and Malaysia channel companies, the commercial opportunity is not simply more storage capacity. It is the ability to combine storage, backup and cyber-resilience products into recurring services for smaller businesses and larger enterprises.

What to watch next

The announcement describes the companies’ intended channel offer. It does not establish customer adoption, savings or security outcomes. Those require evidence from partner onboarding, customer deployments, renewal rates and incident-recovery performance.
