Thailand’s Board of Investment said on 11 September that it had approved a third FastPass batch covering 17 investments from 15 companies, worth US$3.66 billion. The agency said the projects are expected to create more than 14,000 jobs, but those figures describe approved investments and expected employment rather than operating facilities or jobs already delivered.
How the measures work
FastPass applies service-level agreements across state agencies to address licensing bottlenecks and move approved projects towards commissioning. The BOI said the three batches now cover 42 strategic projects worth US$10.39 billion, with 11 projects from the first two batches having completed required permits within the service window.
Alongside the latest batch, the BOI introduced BOI-to-IPO measures with Thailand’s securities regulator and stock exchange. The programme targets eligible BOI-promoted companies, especially in New Economy sectors, with listing pathways and additional tax benefits described by the agency.
What the pipeline means for investors
For investors and suppliers, the announcement gives a clearer pipeline to track across electronics, food processing, precision machinery and automotive parts. The next useful signals will be project commissioning, realised investment, supplier participation and the number of eligible companies that proceed to a public listing.
