ZTE said its 15th Global Summit & User Congress opened in Kuala Lumpur on 9 September alongside GSMA M360 ASEAN. The company described the gathering as a forum for operators, policymakers and technology partners to discuss network evolution, artificial intelligence and digital-economy development.
What ZTE presented
The vendor presented a portfolio spanning connectivity, computing, AI-enabled network operations and what it calls an AI Factory. These were company product descriptions and event demonstrations; the release did not provide evidence of new customer deployments or independently measured performance gains.
Malaysia’s communications and digital ministers used the event to connect infrastructure investment with local capability, public-service value and higher-value economic opportunities. Their participation places the summit within a wider policy discussion about how operators and technology suppliers turn connectivity into useful services.
Why Kuala Lumpur matters
The commercial test will come after the conference: named operator deployments, procurement decisions, implementation partners and measured operating results would show whether the technologies move from presentation to adoption. For now, the event is a signal of vendor and policy priorities in the regional telecoms market.
