Vietnam’s FPT and NAVER Cloud plan AI services for Asian businesses
The Vietnamese technology group and South Korean cloud provider aim to combine AI models, computing capacity and engineering support, targeting Vietnam, Japan and South Korea.

Vietnam-headquartered technology provider FPT and South Korea's NAVER Cloud have signed a memorandum of understanding to pursue AI services for business customers in Asia-Pacific, according to FPT's 12 October announcement. The partners will work toward offering NAVER Cloud's HyperCLOVA X, a large language model for generative AI tasks, to FPT enterprise customers through FPT AI Factory.
What the planned offer would combine
FPT AI Factory is an existing cloud platform for developing and running AI applications. The agreement would add a model from NAVER Cloud to FPT's computing infrastructure and enterprise delivery work. NAVER Cloud's own announcement says the partners also intend to pursue AI Factory and GPU-as-a-service business together. That means providing access to graphics-processor computing for AI training and for inference, the process of running a trained model to answer requests, without each customer building all of that infrastructure itself.
The distinction matters to a buyer: choosing an AI model is only one part of putting it to work. A company may also need computing capacity to run it and engineers to adapt the system to its own operations. The companies propose to bring those pieces together through FPT's customer relationships and the partners' cloud capabilities.
Where and how the partners would work
NAVER Cloud names South Korea, Japan and Vietnam among the Asia-Pacific markets where the partners want to expand GPU-as-a-service opportunities. It says they plan to seek demand from enterprises and AI service providers that need computing resources for large-scale model training or inference.
The operational work goes beyond distribution. NAVER Cloud says the partners will discuss planning, developing and operating AI Factory business together. FPT engineers and staff from NAVER Cloud's Vietnam Development Center and headquarters plan regular exchanges and direct customer work on GPU infrastructure, model inference performance and AI agents. In practical terms, the proposed partnership spans both the computing that runs a model and the engineering needed to connect AI applications to business processes.
FPT already operates AI Factories in Vietnam and Japan. It says its platform serves more than 18,000 developers and 2,000 enterprises worldwide; those are existing FPT figures, not uptake of the NAVER Cloud agreement. The next material sign of progress for buyers would be a defined joint offer with market availability and commercial terms. Neither company has given those details in its 12 October announcement.
