iCents wins RM21 million contract for semiconductor facility in Malaysia
The Malaysian engineering group’s subsidiary will deliver the first stage of the project; a further RM15 million phase needs a separate award.

Malaysian engineering group iCents has won a firm RM21.05 million contract for the first stage of a semiconductor wafer-processing facility in Selangor, Malaysia. Its subsidiary VC Engineering accepted the letter of award on 12 October from the Malaysian arm of an unnamed United States-based company.
The Bursa Malaysia announcement says the awarded work covers engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Completion of this first stage is estimated at 18 weeks. A further RM15.10 million of work is outlined in the letter but needs a separate written award. That makes RM36.15 million the potential value of both stages, while RM21.05 million is the amount firmly awarded. All figures exclude sales and service tax.
Experience in semiconductor cleanrooms
VC Engineering has worked on semiconductor manufacturing spaces before. Its 2025 prospectus describes a Penang project completed in 2017 that included a controlled cleanroom manufacturing area, civil work and ventilation installation. It separately describes a Penang cleanroom upgrade completed in 2022, involving air filtration and building systems, and another project to connect manufacturing equipment in those rooms. These are examples of earlier work; they do not state the design of the new Selangor facility.
The same prospectus records another semiconductor cleanroom contract secured in 2022 at Kulim, Kedah. VC Engineering was engaged through a project-management company to construct about 41,000 square metres of cleanroom space, the group's largest cleanroom job by area at the prospectus cut-off. The prospectus said that work was still under way at the time. This gives a concrete measure of its earlier facility experience in Malaysia, separate from the newly awarded Selangor site.
For Malaysia's specialist facility contractors and suppliers, the accepted first stage is a defined near-term work programme at a wafer-processing site. iCents expects the project to contribute positively to group net assets and earnings per share from the financial year ending June 2027 through completion.
